Where is the festival?
The festival will take place on Balneario de Carolina in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Balneario de Carolina is one of many gorgeous beaches in Puerto Rico and is just a six-minute drive away from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.

 

What are the festival dates?
The festival starts on Wednesday, March 18th and ends in the early hours of Sunday, March 22nd.

 

What are the festival times?
The festival will begin in the afternoon of each day and run until the early hours of the next day. Full programme details will be announced soon. Keep up to date by signing up to the mailing list or by following us on Instagram.

 

What age do I have to be?
Afro Nation Puerto Rico is an 18+ only event and you will need ID to prove your age to guarantee entry. To purchase alcoholic beverages at the festival you must be over 18.

Will Accreditation be open every day of the festival?
Yes. Full accreditation opening times will be released in the days leading up to the festival.

 

Can I go in and out of the festival site every night?
Yes. Your wristband allows you to enter and re-enter the festival as many times as you like.

 

What security precautions do you take?
We work closely with the police and authorities to make sure things go smoothly during your time at Afro Nation. All guests are subject to being searched prior to entry into the Event. By requesting entry into the Event, all guests shall be subject to a pat down search, including emptying pockets and bags, being scanned with a detector wand, walking through a magnetometer and having personal items examined.

 

What can I bring into the festival site?
– No bottles / liquids or aerosol cans are allowed.
– No food will be allowed into the festival site. There will be a wide range of food vendors available inside the site.
– Roll on deodorant, sunscreen and small bags (A4 size) are allowed.
– We strongly encourage the use of clear (see through) bags in order help speed up the entry process for everyone attending

 

What happens if I lose my wristband?
Wristbands will only be issued once. Broken or lost wristbands cannot be replaced so please look after them.

 

Can you bring cameras into the festival?
No professional cameras (with interchangeable lenses) without an approved photo pass.

 

Is the festival accessible for disabilities?

Can I sell merchandise at the festival?
We reserve the right to confiscate any items you are selling without our approval.

+ TICKETS

How much are tickets?
General admission festival tickets are available from $129. Information about VIP tickets, Layaway and more can be found on the tickets page.

 

What’s included in my festival ticket?
General admission tickets include four-day access to the main festival area. VIP tickets include access to the main area, a dedicated VIP area with a private bar and fast-track entry into the festival site. Note: Drinks and private tables are not included in the ticket price. Bill and venues subject to change.

 

Are day tickets available?
No day tickets are available at this time

 

What do the different ticket releases mean?
There is no difference in access between the Early Bird, 1st & 2nd release tickets. As more tickets are released closer to the festival dates, they go up in price. So the sooner you buy your ticket, the more you will save!

 

How does Layaway work?
Our Layaway option allows you to pay for your ticket in three monthly instalments, with the cost of the ticket split into thirds. The booking fee will be added to your final payment. Please note, the cut-off date for this option is January 6th.

When will I receive my festival ticket?
E-tickets will be emailed out in the coming weeks before the festival.

 

Can I upgrade to a VIP ticket if I’ve already purchased a General Admission ticket?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer ticket upgrades.

 

Can I use tickets bought with my old/lost card?
Please bring your new card, an official form of identification and a letter or bill that matches your account’s address and you will be able to exchange for your festival wristband.

 

What do I need to bring to guarantee entry?
Please bring your ticket, the card you purchased the ticket with and valid photo identification.

 

What constitutes a valid photo ID?
Photographic forms of identification such as a passport or driving licence are acceptable.

 

What if someone else bought my ticket for me and will not be with me at accreditation?
If your name on the ticket does not match your ID, you will need to bring the following in order to exchange for your festival wristband:

 

1 – A signed cover letter from the card holder
2 – A clear scan showing the last 4 digits of the account number on the card used
3 – A clear scan of passport or driving license of the card holder

 

What needs to be on a cover letter from the card holder?
A written letter giving you consent from the card holder that matches the billing address of your booking. This needs to be signed and dated by the card holder.

 

Can I cancel my ticket?
Unfortunately, all tickets are non-refundable, we are unable to offer any refunds for tickets no longer needed.

Unfortunately, all tickets are non-transferable, and we are unable to offer any refunds for tickets no longer needed.

 

Can you buy tickets off third party websites such as Viagogo?
We do not accept these, guarantee your ticket is genuine by purchasing through our website.

 

Who are the official ticket vendors?
Our official vendors are Festicket, Eventbrite & Pollen.

+ Cashless Wristbands

Where do you get your RFID wristbands?
You will receive your RFID wristband at accreditation when exchanging your festival ticket. Both GA and VIP ticket wristbands will have RFID chips in them.

 

What is the minimum top-up value?
The minimum top up value in advance of the festival is $50. However, on site you will be able to top up in smaller denominations.

 

Can I refund money leftover on my wristband?
Refunds will be available online for 48 hours after the festival for any leftover credit. Refunds will incur a small processing fee of $1.50.

 

Can I top-up in advance of the festival?
You will be able to top a minimum of $50 in advance of the festival. If you top more than $150 you will get additional credit to spend for free. Read our blog post for full information here.

San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is San Juan’s main airport and can be reached from most major American, Caribbean, European and African airports, with both direct and non-direct flights.

Can you camp at Afro Nation?
Afro Nation is a non-camping festival.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in and check-out times for hotels, villas and apartments vary. Find your accommodation directly.

 

How can I safely store belongings?
Most hotels come with safety deposit boxes in the rooms, but some require a nominal fee for their use. Check with your accommodation when booking for information.
