What are the festival dates?
The festival starts on Wednesday, March 18th and ends in the early hours of Sunday, March 22nd.

 

Where is the festival?
The festival will take place on Balneario de Carolina in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Balneario de Carolina is one of many gorgeous beaches in Puerto Rico and is just a six minute drive away from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.

 

What are the festival times?
The festival will begin in the afternoon of each day and run until the early hours of the next day. Full programme details will be announced soon. Keep up to date by signing up to the mailing list or by following us on Instagram.

 

What age do I have to be?
Afro Nation Puerto Rico is an 18+ only event and you will need ID to prove your age to guarantee entry. To purchase alcoholic beverages at the festival you must be over 18.

 

Where can I find full set times?
Set times and day-by-day breakdowns will be revealed before the festival begins. Keep up to date by signing up to the mailing list or following us on Instagram.

 

Will Accreditation be open every day of the festival?
Yes. Full opening times will be released nearer to the festival.

 

Can I go in and out of the festival site every night?
Yes. Your wristband allows you to go to and from the festival site and into each venue as often as you’d like.

 

Are there any birthday/bulk packages available?
Yes, please refer to our tickets page for more info.

 

What happens if I lose my wristband?
Wristbands will only be issued once. Broken or lost wristbands cannot be replaced so please look after them.

How much are tickets?
General admission festival tickets are available from $129. Information about VIP tickets, Layaway and more can be found on the tickets page.

 

What’s included in my festival ticket?
General admission tickets include four-day access to the main festival area. VIP tickets include access to the main area, a dedicated VIP area and private bar. Note: Drinks and private tables are not included in the ticket price. Bill and venues subject to change.

 

What do the different ticket releases mean?
There is no difference in access between the Early Bird, 1st & 2nd release tickets. As more tickets are released closer to the festival dates, they go up in price. So the sooner you buy your ticket, the more you will save!

 

How does Layaway work?
Our Layaway option allows you to pay for your ticket in three monthly instalments, with the cost of the ticket split into thirds. The booking fee will be added to your final payment. Please note, the cut-off date for this option is January 6th.

Can I sell my ticket?
Unfortunately all tickets are non-transferable and we are unable to offer any refunds for tickets no longer needed.

 

Can I upgrade to a VIP ticket if I’ve already purchased a General Admission ticket?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer ticket upgrades.

 

Can I use tickets bought with my old/lost card?
Please bring your new card, an official form of identification and a letter or bill that matches your account’s address and you will be able to exchange for your festival wristband.

What constitutes a valid photo ID?
Photographic forms of identification such as a passport or driving licence are acceptable.

 

What if someone else bought my ticket for me?
If your name on the ticket does not match your ID, you will need to bring the following in order to exchange for your festival wristband:
1 – A signed cover letter from the card holder
2 – A clear scan of the card used
3 – A clear scan of passport or driving license of the card holder

 

What needs to be on a cover letter from the card holder?
A written letter giving you consent from the card holder that matches the billing address of your booking. This needs to be signed and dated by the card holder.

 

What constitutes a valid photo ID?
Photographic forms of identification such as a passport or driving licence are acceptable.

 

Can I cancel my ticket?
Unfortunately all tickets are non-refundable, we are unable to offer any refunds for tickets no longer needed.

 

Who are the official ticket vendors?
Our official vendors are Festicket, Eventbrite & Pollen.

As Puerto Rico is such a sought after tourist destination, there’s a huge selection of quality hotels, villas and apartments to choose from.

 

Can you camp at Afro Nation?
Afro Nation is a non-camping festival.

 

How should I resolve an issue with my hotel?
Please speak with your hotel provider directly.

 

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in and check-out times for hotels, villas and apartments vary. Find your accommodation directly.

 

How can I safely store belongings?
Most hotels come with safety deposit boxes in the rooms, but some require a nominal fee for their use. Check with your accommodation when booking for information.

San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is San Juan’s main airport and can be reached from most major American, Caribbean, European and African airports, with both direct and non-direct flights.
